housewife status ((home decor & recipe inspirations))

So I never thought in a million years that I would love stores like Pottery Barn. But I do. Just having my own place and space to decorate. But more importantly, one day having a home that is PINTEREST worthy(that'll be a way away though).

And with Woody and I's upcoming move this Thursday (!!!!!) I've been scouring websites like Pier 1, Target, and the Barn for some decor sales.

When Woody and I first moved in January to a house on base, we were overwhelmed by space. It was really nice, but I didn't spend too much time decorating because we were moving out as soon we as we got in!

But now our newest home will be a place for us to settle for a few years so I'm ready to make it our own!

One thing I have to have is my precious wine rack. I found a few cute ones on sale at Pier 1 and they have a store in Hawaii, so I plan to check them out in person!

I'm leaning toward to the right solely because of the upper wine glass display rack!

Now like I said before, I love me some Pottery Barn, but I don't like the prices. A sale for them is still like 200+ dollars and I cannot bring myself to spend one hundred on a lantern. But here are a few things on my wish list anyways!

A girl can dream.

One thing I'm really looking forward to is doing some COOKING. Another amazing thing Pinterest provides is some awesome recipes.  Here's one I'm doing ASAP once we get settled!

Cheddar Jalapeno Chicken Burger w/ Guacamole
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons chopped jalapeño
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/3 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
  • kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
  •       ((Optional Toppings))
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • sour cream
  • lettuce
  • red onions
  • guacamole
  • chipotle salsa
Instructions
  1. Prepare an indoor or outdoor grill over medium heat.
  2. Transfer the ground chicken to a medium bowl.
  3. Add in the onion, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, paprika, cheddar cheese, salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Using your hands, incorporate everything together. Make sure everything is evenly incorporated without over mixing the ground chicken.
  4. Form the mixture into four 1/2"-thick patties. Grill burgers over medium heat until cooked through, 5-7 minutes per side.
  5. Serve each patty in a burger bun topped with guacamole and sour cream and salsa if desired.

Follow me on Pinterest ya'll!
